Lifongo Chiefdom warns against unauthorized sale of community land in Lifongo village

The Chief of Lifongo village, Tiko Sub-Division, Fako Division, HRM Billy Bob Ndive Lifongo, has issued a strong public warning over the illegal sale of community land in Lifongo village.


In a Communique signed October 6, 2026, with reference 002/../10/LC/SEC/HRM, by HRM Billy Bob Ndive Lifongo, the Ekpeka Njoku of Lifongo Village, says it has come to its attention that certain individuals are falsely presenting themselves as landowners and land merchants and are unlawfully selling portions of land located along the ESUASUA stream within Lifongo village community land meant for farming.


"The general public is hereby warned to beware of these unauthorized individuals and their activities. We wish to make it clear that no group or entity has been mandated or authorized by Lifongo community to sell community land on its behalf”,


“Furthermore, not even a metre of community land has been sold to any individual or group of persons." The communique stated.


The Chiefdom further warns that anyone who engages in land transactions with such unauthorized persons does so entirely at their own risk and those involved will be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the law.


He added that anyone who has already paid money to such individuals is strongly advised to demand the immediate return of their money.


The general public is urged to exercise caution and verify any claim of ownership or authorization before entering into any land transaction within the area.
