A man was stabbed to death by his stepson in a tragic and horrific incident that occurred on Thursday morning, May 15, 2025, in the "Nouvelle Carossel" neighborhood of Kondengui, Yaoundé 4 Subdivision, Centre Region.
Although the circumstances leading to the stabbing have not been fully established, preliminary reports suggest that the victim, a grilled meat vendor, returned home Thursday morning after a night of sales, only to discover that 200,000 CFA francs were missing. When he accused his wife of taking the money, she categorically denied it. During their argument, the money fell from her clothing, enraging the man, who then physically assaulted her.
A neighbor, hearing the wife's lamentations, alerted the stepson, who wasn't present, about his mother's beating. The stepson reportedly used a machete on the man, who bled profusely, collapsed, and later died.
An investigation has been launched, and the wife, stepson, and daughter have been arrested.
