The Mayor of Minta Council in Upper Sanaga Division, Center Region, Salomon Mout Abalang is no more. He died in the early hours of Thursday, September 4, 2025, after a brief illness in Yaounde.

During his tenure, he initiated several development projects to improve the lives of Minta residents. He presided over a tree-planting ceremony to restore the degraded savannah of the communal forest, in collaboration with the FODER organisation. The municipal hotel of Minta was inaugurated under his leadership, offering new opportunities for the commune.

He worked to improve the daily lives of Minta residents and make their commune a leading development hub.

As mayor, Salomon Mout Abalang was a member of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement. His efforts towards local development were recognised, and his passing has sparked condolences from his colleagues and the community.

Kemajou Baudelaire, a local development stakeholder wrote on Facebook “My friend Mout Abalang, Mayor of Minta Municipality in Upper Sanaga passed away this morning”,

“I accompanied this Mayor in grading and developing his municipality and also finding opportunities for international cooperation for the development of his municipality. To his family and his staff, I send my sincere condolences to them”
