Yaounde gynecological hospital denies negligence, poor medical care in newborn death

The Director of the Yaounde Gynecological Hospital (HGOPY), Dr. Che Kingsley Soh in a communique dated Monday, August 18, 2025 denied negligence and poor medical care for the death of a newborn baby.
His refusal is coming up following rumors circulating on social networks and in public opinion, suggesting negligence or poor medical care of dead of the newborn baby on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
In a denial statement, the Director General of the Yaoundé Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital (HGOPY) explained that the incident was exclusively due to a serious medical complication, against which the medical team worked tirelessly, unfortunately without a favorable outcome.
Director General Dr. Kingsley Che presents his sincere condolences to the bereaved family and reiterates HGOPY's commitment to continue providing quality healthcare especially to the most vulnerable sections of the population as instructed by the Head of State His Excellency Paul Biya.
