The Chief Executive Officer of Blessing Association, For Women and Children, Baiye Frida Ebai, says "Women play a pivotal role in households, in communities, that is why the woman should be at the forefront of peace building initiative in Cameroon, especially in the conflict affected areas.
We all know what's happening now, so training and empowering them with more skills on early warning and Response mechanisms, on the role they have to play on peace and security issues of women in the Regions. We must empower them to take part in these activities”.
She notes that, it is imperative to start with the women in all denominations, cultural groups and other civil society organisations for they represent thousands of women to preach peace and prevent conflict in their communities.
Opening the workshop, the 4th Deputy Mayor of the Buea council, Madam Enjema Vivanje, lauded the initiative of the organisers. She cites that, the young Baiye Frida's effort to rally women for a peace building workshop is a laudable idea that must be appreciated in all strata of life.
This is coming after the organiser returned from Ghana where she attended a Women in Conflict Prevention course at Koffi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Institute Accra Ghana.

To Madam Ann Munjong, the founder of the program Voices of Women, equally added her voice that, women are peace mediators, Ambassadors and should be given the chance to add their voices in seeking lasting solutions to the Anglophone crisis that has affected the lives of women and children.
Meanwhile, in the case of conflict which jeopardizes the peace of a community, participants were edified on the role of women in conflict prevention and peace building.
Doctor Niying Rogers, Lecturer in the University of Buea, said women should derive simple methods of solving conflicts, such holding the government accountable, writing of letters to the concern authorities.
Participants drawn from different spheres of lives were also equipped with some basic tips to combat Hate speech, conflict prevention, mediation and peace building.

Placed on the theme "Strengthening women's participation in conflict prevention and early warning mechanism in Cameroon" and the training of grassroot trainers approach is timely.
