US Ambassador to Cameroon announces renewal of US-Limbe relationship

 US Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Christopher John Lamora, has announced the renewal of the US-Limbe relationship during a courtesy visit to the Limbe Paramount Chiefdom on Thursday, April 24, 2025. 

He expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief, his family, and court for the warm reception. Ambassador Lamora acknowledged the historical connection between Limbe (formerly Victoria) and the US, emphasizing the potential for continued collaboration. 

"I'm grateful for the generosity and thoughtfulness in considering possible relationships between the United States and the people of this Chiefdom," he said. 

During the visit, Lamora highlighted the importance of traditional rulers in Cameroonian life, which prompted him to pay a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief. 

"I'm thankful for the hospitality, kindness, and respect shown to me today," he added. 

The discussions focused on creating job opportunities for young people in Limbe and Cameroon, particularly those who are unemployed or underemployed. 

The Ambassador pledged to work with the Limbe Chiefdom to foster development in the region. 

Paramount Chief HM Elufa John Manga Williams thanked the US Ambassador for the visit, believing it marked the beginning of a progressive relationship that would benefit the community. 

"We think that by bringing them closer to the Chiefdom, they'll understand our challenges and help propel us to greater heights," he explained. 

The exchange between the US Ambassador and the Paramount Chief centered on economic development, culture, and infrastructure, among other topics.
