CDU Presidential Candidate, Hon Patricia Tomanio Ndam Njoya insists on revision of Electoral Code

The National President of Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU party, Hon Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya has urged Cameroonians to support the CDU demand for the revision of the Electoral Code. 


She made this clarion on recently at Montee Anne Rouge in the nation’s capital while receiving New Year Wishes from the press.


She reiterated that the highest organ of their party chose her as the 2025 Presidential election candidate. 


The press conference was attended by the President of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement, CRM, Prof Maurice Kamto, the President of UNIVERS party, Nkoul Mvondo, USDP party, MP party etc. 


Quizzed what she told President Paul Biya during the New Year Wishes ceremony at Unity Palace, Hon Patricia Ndam Njoya said, she urged the President of the Republic to modify the Electoral Code that is as old 2012.


She declared that “CDU party will never boycott any election again in Cameroon. Though one can never say never because it depends on the political evolution country at the moment”, she said. 


The Mayor of Foumban and former MP for the CDU at the National Assembly said, “the Cameroon Democratic Union has allowed the doors of a possible coalition opened around the Electoral Code and will certainly be opened around a possible 1 opposition candidate against the ruling regime of President Paul Biya come 2025 polls.” 


She narrated that the present-day challenges such as the socio-political crisis in the North West and South West regions, challenges linked to the management of the cities, public governance, tribalism, corruption, public liberty, privatization, brutality, violence, xenophobia etc are making people to be questioning the leadership of this country. 


She concluded by telling the press that, “since 2021, CDU engaged with other political parties and civil society in the participative platform to revise the Electoral Code.


This admirable work is expected to serve beyond the 2025 presidential election in Cameroon. 

That is why we are asking you to accompany us for the modification of the Electoral Code for transparent, credible elections in an appeased atmosphere.”
