A businessman whose name KNews could not get his name, is currently in police custody as the primary suspect in the fatal shooting of an EDGE Company excavator driver on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the La chance bridge small Mankon, Bamenda North West Region of Cameroon.
It should be noted that, the driver was killed by armed men on a motorcycle while working on the bridge.
According to eyewitness who preferred not to be named, said the driver had been working on the lower part of the bridge without any incident before moving to the upper part, where the businessman sells his wares.
It was there that he was shot. The businessman, who is currently being held in police custody, and had previously appeared in a social media video in Small Mankon, where he was accused by the crowd of depositing mysterious money at the quarter junction.
The businessman's involvement in the murder is still being investigated, and he will only be considered an accused if the preliminary investigation (PI) yields evidence of his culpability. He will then have the opportunity to defend himself in court.
