University of Bamenda Student drops dead from hostel building

The lifeless body of a student of the University Bamenda (UBa) whose name KNews couldn’t get, was discovered dead this morning at the ground floor of a student hostel, a storey building. 

According to our source who preferred not to be named said they heard a loud noise on Sunday night, but nothing further was gathered from the noise, and they only discovered the student's lifeless body this morning, Monday, March 3, 2025. 

KNews later gathered that, It appears the student fell from the second floor of the storey building. Security forces were alerted, and the corpse was taken away to the mortuary. 

Our source further hinted that the student was in the company of two other University of Bamenda students at the time of the incident.

It is alleged that the three were last seen drinking heavily at 3 Corners, Bambili, on Sunday night, March 2, 2025.  

After the arrival of security forces, the student's room was searched, and marijuana (Mbanga) was discovered, along with containers of hard liquor called "Bullet." Two of the friends he was with last night were arrested as the investigation continues. 

Many University of Bamenda students in Bambili are noted for consuming hard drugs, such as cayo, marijuana, and hard drinks like "Bullet." 

It should be noted that last week February 25, 2025 a student was arrested and detained after allegedly raping a Level 200 female student of the university following heavy consumption of hard drugs. 

He allegedly invited the female student over for a discussion, only to force her into sexual intercourse. The alleged rapist is awaiting trial at the Bamenda Central Prison.
