TAKAD CEMAC tour 2026: Douala stage ends with strategic unity meal, ancestral blessing

The Douala delegation of TAKAD CEMAC tour 2026 wrapped up on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, with a high-level strategic lunch and a traditional ancestral blessing ceremony.

Unity meal seals strategic partnerships

The International Organizing Committee, led by President Hercule NZE SOUALA, was hosted for lunch by Clément TCHOUANTE, CEO of Challenge International and President of the International Jury for the 7th edition of the TAKAD Awards.

Organizers described the gathering as more than a lunch – it was a strategic working session aimed at mobilizing reliable institutional and economic partners in Cameroon to ensure the success of the 7th edition of the TAKAD.

The lunch was preceded by a strategic meeting facilitated by award-winning Amy BANDA, bringing together President Nze Souala and Vice-President Lassane OULARE with celebrated Cameroonian actor Alenne Menget, Knight of the Order of Valor and the only African winner at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

During the meeting, Alenne Menget was appointed Head of the Jury for English-speaking Africa. He pledged to lead a strong Nigerian delegation to Gabon in December for the main event.

Ancestral blessing at Beti Chief

Later the same day, President Hercule NZE SOUALA received traditional attributes of power from the Beti community.

The ceremony took place in the sacred hut of His Majesty BELIBY NDJANA Clause, Chief of the Beti Community of the Littoral, in the Nkololoun neighbourhood of Douala, in the presence of the Council of Chiefs.

In a Fang-Beti initiation ritual, the TAKAD President was entrusted to the spirits of the forest peoples for protection, wisdom, and success for the 7th edition.

The rite symbolizes the TAKAD’s core values: African unity and symbiosis among peoples.

In the same ceremony, the Honorary President of the International Organizing Committee, Queen ETEME, was elevated to the rank of Princess of the Beti Chieftaincy of the Littoral.

The blessing marked the official close of the Douala stage, as the tour continues across the CEMAC region ahead of the grand finale in Gabon in December.
