Stephen Ndive Jeme is the new South West Regional president Cameroon's Bat Minton Federation (FECABAT).
He was elected recently during an elective general assembly that held in Buea which saw him grab 45 votes on 45 as president. His Vice, Ghogomu Thomas was followed by Moukete Mpako and Mepassi as Secretary and treasurer respectively with equivalent.
Speaking to KNews in an exclusive interview, Stephen Jeme Lamented that the sporting discipline is not being promoted in the Country.
“It’s an interesting sport to do like football, handball and volleyball and others. I bet you that after practicing Batminton sport for five minutes, you’ll love to continually do it. It’s a very vital sport discipline for our health”,
“We started like close to two years ago in Cameroon, and we have put some coaches through training courses that I sponsored. Batminton sport is a discipline for which we are creating awareness in the South West Region.” Stephen Jeme explained.
Quizzed on his plan of action, he explained that next year they are starting after the Nation Bureau of FECABAT. “We intend to start a campaign in Buea, Limbe and Kumba to create awareness to introduce the sport discipline in schools." Stephen Jeme added.
“We want to go to schools because we have trainers that can go to schools to teach students how to understand the discipline before we begin the distribution of sporting materials that will definitely come later.” Stephen Jeme explained.
He added that within his two years mandate renewal. He will endeavor to create impact in grass-roots in South West Region.
Stephen Jeme urged all an sundry to join him on board to make this federation known in South West.
