RIAL tasks GBHS Limbe students to be peace ambassadors

Regeneration Initiative Association Limbe (RIAL) joined the globe to commemorate World Peace Day at Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Limbe, on Monday, September 21, 2026, with a call on students to embrace peace, reject violence, and shun juvenile delinquency. The day was observed under the theme; Invest in peace for everyone everywhere everyday”. 

The event was organized by the Regeneration Initiative Association Limbe (RIAL), in partnership with the Association de la Jeunesse Républicaine du Cameroun, under the auspices of the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Engelbert Viang Mekala. 

Welcoming the peace crusaders to the school, the Principal, Madam Kale Singe, said peace is a fundamental component of meaningful development and growth. She cautioned students against violence and drug abuse, urging them to always choose peace. 

RIAL Vice President, Joel Fofou, a former student of GBHS Limbe and co-founder of the Association de la Jeunesse Républicaine du Cameroun, called on students to embrace Cameroon's bilingual culture and shun all forms of discrimination.

In his address, RIAL President, Mwanbo Lyonga Paul Junior, urged staff and students to become peace ambassadors, stressing that peace should be seen as an investment in the future. The ceremony also featured the presentation of Peace Ambassador Awards to outstanding students. 

According to the organizers, the initiative seeks to encourage young people to become active promoters of peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence in their communities.

The Regeneration Initiative Association Limbe (RIAL) is a youth-led, non-profit organization based in Limbe, Southwest Region of Cameroon. Founded by young Cameroonian leaders, RIAL is committed to promoting peace, youth empowerment, civic engagement, and sustainable community development.

Through education, advocacy, and community service, RIAL works to inspire young people to become active agents of positive change, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence in their communities. Motto: "Together for a Sustainable Future - Unity, Innovation, Progress."
