Esie’s charity foundation donates to Buea school for deaf, launches foundation
Journalist and Founder of Esie's Charity Foundation, Esie Lucy Liengu, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, carried out an outreach to children of the Buea School for the Deaf, Mile 16, Buea, as part of the International week for the deaf. The donation includes; books, bags, pencils, pens ruler, among others.
For her, the outreach was more than just a visit. It was the beginning of a vision she has carried in her heart for a long time, to extend a helping hand to children in need, bring smiles to their faces, and remind them that they are loved, valued and never forgotten.
She said she has always believed that every child deserves a chance to dream, to learn and to have hope for a brighter future, regardless of their circumstances.
"As a journalist, I have witnessed and heard many stories of hardship, but beyond telling stories, I have always wanted to be part of a story that brings hope and makes a difference in people's lives,"
"Today's visit to Buea School for the Deaf represents that desire to move beyond words and take practical steps towards touching lives, one child at a time." Esie Lucy Liengu said.
The outreach also marked the laying of the foundation stone for Esie's Charity Foundation, a dream she hopes will grow into a meaningful platform for reaching out to vulnerable children and other people in need.
She believes that with faith, determination and the support of kind-hearted individuals, the vision can grow into something much bigger, building a legacy of compassion, service and love.
Esie Lucy Liengu expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of Buea School for the Deaf and his wife for granting her the opportunity to bring the vision to life and for opening their doors to the children.
She also thanked everyone who contributed, encouraged and supported the vision, saying every act of support, no matter how small, helped make the dream a reality.
“Today, I may have taken only the first step, but it is a step filled with purpose. My hope is that Esie's Charity Foundation will become a beacon of hope for vulnerable children, reminding them that someone cares and that their dreams matter."
"This is not just the beginning of a foundation; it is the beginning of a promise to keep showing up for those who need love, hope, and a helping hand. A dream has come true, a prayer has been answered, and a journey of compassion has begun." Esie Liengu said.
On his part, Founder/Director, Mr. N'jok Bibum Aloysius said “I want to say a very big thank you to the Esie's Charity Foundation for choosing to support 10 of our underprivileged deaf children of the Buea School for the Deaf.”
