Race to presidency: Buea Paramount Chief calls for peace as nation awaits results

In a heartfelt appeal, the Paramount Chief of Buea,

HRM Chief Dr. Robert Esuka Mbella Endeley, has called on the people of Buea to maintain peace and calm following the proclamation of the presidential results slated for Monday, October 27, 2025 by the Constitutional Council.

He made this clarion call on Monday, October 20, 2025 in a communique. He cited that ,the town has experienced pain and lockdown for past eight years, Chief Endeley emphasised the need for unity and tranquility, urging residents to prioritize their collective well-being and the future of their children.

"We cannot afford more suffering," Chief Endeley declared. "Another spark of violence, will not only destroy property but also destroy us, our families, our peace of mind, and the future of our children." HRM Dr. Robert Esuka added.

He urged the people of Buea to reject divisive voices and protect one another, regardless of their views or affiliations.

The Paramount Chief's plea comes after a meeting with Quarter Heads of the Buea Township, where he advocated for a peaceful vote. "Together, we achieved 100% peace during the election, and I urge us all to uphold peace after the election," he said. Let's make history by choosing peace when the storm threatens to return.

HRM Chief Endeley's appeal is a testament to the town's resilience and determination to move forward. As the people of Buea await the election results, they can draw inspiration from the Paramount Chief's words: "We are one community, one people, one destiny."

It should be noted noted that this call is coming few days after the call of South West Chief Conference calling on the population of South West Region to remain calm after growing tension created by irate voters in Douala, Dschang, Garoua, Limbe.
