In a bid to promote healthcare in Limbe municipality, the Paramount Chief of Limbe, HRM Elufa John Manga Williams, donated a doctors' block to Bota District Hospital on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The block structure comprises four offices, tables, chairs, and toilets. Speaking during the event, HRM Elufa John Manga Williams explained that he was moved to make the donation after noticing the poor consultation environment at the hospital.

"The space they showed us could only accommodate four offices; if the space were bigger, we could have created more offices. We thought doctors should be very comfortable, so we added tables, chairs, and toilets,"he said.

The Paramount Chief urged people of goodwill to provide other necessary equipment, emphasising that everyone would need hospital services at some point.

In his intervention, Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) representative, 3rd Assistant SDO Biyele Noah, applauded the Limbe Paramount Chief for promoting health in Limbe Municipality. "This is a laudable initiative. We call on other people of goodwill to emulate and support this hospital," Biyele Noah said.

In his intervention, the Regional Delegate for Public Health Dr. Eko Eko Filbert, Regional Delegate for Public Health, commended the Limbe I Council Mayor, Mbwaye Eposi, for her successful management of the hospital before the decentralisation law.

He highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in healthcare, stating that "health left only with the Ministry of Public Health can't go beyond 30%. You see that the remaining 70% is attached to other sectors."

On his part, the Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that it would improve doctor-patient confidentiality.

"We can now say that the Bota District Hospital has been upgraded to a modern hospital," he said, calling on everyone to be goodwill ambassadors for the hospital.

Bota District Hospital Director Dr. Moleka Marcus Obase, expressed joy over the infrastructure, stating that it would provide doctors with adequate space and privacy for consultations.

He listed the hospital's needs, including a hospitalisation ward, renovation of external toilets, rewiring, and re-plumbing, as well as specialised staff.

The donation is part of efforts to enhance healthcare facilities and promote Doctor-patient relationships in Limbe Municipality
