The Regional Coordinator for Local Governance and Resilient Communities Project (PROLOG), Tabe Ako Leo, has hailed Limbe I Council for being the first Council nationwide to complete its project for 2025.
Tabe Ako was speaking on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Busumbu quarter in Limbe I municipality during the official handing over of the 18 street lights project funded by PROLOG.
"I'm very proud that the first project that has been received by PROLOG in the Republic of Cameroon is from Limbe I Council,"
“Limbe I Council was awarded two projects worth FCFA 20 million and FCFA 28 million. This electrification of Busumbu quarter is worth FCFA 20 million." Tabe Ako said.
He explained that initially, only 10 Councils in the South West Region were shortlisted to benefit from the pilot phase of PROLOG in the South West Region.
Limbe I Council was not among these 10 Councils, but surprisingly, it is the first council to benefit from PROLOG in the whole Republic of Cameroon. This permitted the Council to benefit from close to FCFA 50 million from the quiz.
The Mayor of Limbe I Council, Eposi Mbwaye Florence, decided to invest this money in two different projects, one of them being the electrification of Lower Bosumbu village with street lights.
In her intervention, Limbe I Mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence expressed joy at being the first Council nationwide to have completed her PROLOG project.
The Mayor used the occasion to thank the Contractor for executing the work on time. The Mayor also thanked the Divisional Delegate for Water and Energy and the Limbe I Council engineers for their proper follow-up of the project.
Mayor Mbwaye Eposi assured other quarters in her municipality that other projects are in the pipeline and that they will also benefit. "If we're here today in Busumbu quarter, tomorrow we'll be in another quarter in my municipality; every quarter will benefit from Limbe I Council in due time," she added.
Limbe I Mayor was accompanied to the field by the Regional Coordinator of PROLOG, the Divisional Delegate of Decentralisation and Local Development, Naseri Julius, the Divisional Delegate of Water and Energy, Mukete Eric including the Contractor and Council Engineers.
Inhabitants of Lower Bosumbu expressed satisfaction and thanked the Mayor, asking her to keep up with her good work in other localities in her municipality.
