The congregational chairperson of Presbyterian Church Mile 4 Limbe, who also serves as the Mayor of Limbe I Council, Mbwaye Eposi Florence, donated didactic materials to over 100 schoolchildren on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Presbyterian Church Mile 4.

This gesture is part of her yearly donation to widows' children and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The donation, which includes books, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and more, was handed to the schoolchildren with the hope that it will empower them as the new school year begins on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Quizzed about the timely gesture, Mayor Mbwaye Eposi explained that, as a mother in Limbe I municipality, she has a passion for children. "I'm an educator and know the importance of education," she said, quoting Nelson Mandela: "The strongest weapon for change is to go to school."

“I pray to do better next year, especially with the availability of means. Trust me, with God almighty, I shall put smiles on more faces next edition." Mayor Mbwaye Eposi added.

She urged the schoolchildren to take their academics seriously by devoting their time and avoiding distractions. Parents of the beneficiaries thanked her for the back-to-school materials, citing the donation as timely amid economic hardships.

It should be noted that this is not Mayor Mbwaye Eposi's first initiative to promote education in Limbe I municipality since the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Earlier, she donated didactic materials to over 200 schoolchildren in Quarter 21, Bonadikombo Mile 4, and facilitated the payment of two months' salary arrears to Limbe I Council staff to enable them to send their children to school.

Political pundits believe Mayor Mbwaye Eposi is the right person for the job and that she will do more to develop Limbe I municipality with more opportunities.
