‘Paul Biya glass palace’: Cameroon's new National Assembly building gets official name today

The new National Assembly building, recently inaugurated on November 30, 2024, will host an official naming ceremony today Friday, April 25, 2025 where it will be named the "Paul Biya Glass Palace,"
The modern structure, valued at FCFA 50 billion is a gift by China, previously hosted the closing of the November parliamentary session shortly after its inauguration.
At that time, the National Assembly President secured the Head of State Paul Biya's approval for the building to bear his name.
In a communique obtained by KNews, National Assembly Secretary General Essian Andre Noel said; “The National Assembly hereby informs personalities and special guests who are invited for the official naming ceremony of the new National Assembly Complex (Paul Biya Glass House) that the latest time of arrival is 10:30 a.m”.
Earlier now, the president of the National Assembly Rt. Honourable Cavaye Yegue Djibril said; “This ceremony speaks to all of us, especially we, the representatives of the people, regardless of political affiliation”.
Cavaye Djibril before now announced the establishment of a Directorate of Palace within his office.
This new department will be tasked for maintaining this architectural gem equipped with state-of-the-art technical and technological facilities.
