BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA

A delegation of the US-based Cameroon Diaspora group called "The Passionate Ladies of Maryland" headed by its Founder/President Mrs. Ruth Akaba, was at Ngeme Community Hall Limbe II Subdivision Limbe to donate food items such as rice, oil, to needy women in Ngeme, orphans of CAHECAM and Children full of Grace orphanage and FCFA 200,000 to women in Ngeme to start a practical session session. The donation exercise took place on Saturday March 11, 2023

"We visited Mokunda to meet with the Women of Mokunda, hold working sessions with them on topics like forgiveness and proper taking of medication," Mrs. Ruth Akaba told Invest in Limbe.

The visit to Ngeme is the second lap of the delegation's working tour. They previously visited Mokunda village still in Limbe II Subdivision last week.

Quizzed what pushed her to carry such gesture she said as a daughter of Victoria/Limbe she knew with the coming of COVID-19 and the ongoing crisis in North West and South West Regions the population is going through tough period. That is why she thought it wise to donate to them.

“After today, I have met some influential people. We’re planning to work in order to improve the women and children because given them the food is the first thing but they need sustainability for them to sustain themselves that’s we have engaged them on craft work.” Dr. Ruth Akaba said.

She added that she has sponsored the craft training of the women with the sun of FCFA 200,000 so the women can benefit from the training.

Dr. Ruth Akaba urged the beneficiaries to believe in themselves, set goal and focus on it.

The group is made up of strong, opinionated, loyal, ideas & direction filled women who are placing themselves not where the path necessarily leads but where there is no path and they create it and leave their trail.

With the knowledge that the greatness of humanity is not in being human but in being humane, The Passionate Ladies Of Maryland, with their resources organize community reach outs like the visit to the Homeless Shelter & the Veterans in Maryland which allow them to give back to the community & share in their pain and joy. The visibility of the Ghandi saying that ‘where there is love there is life’ is clear where their trail is being marked.

Challenging each other to the commitment to help one person, one organization, one situation that touches one’s heart, the passionate ladies remain cognizant of their goals & dreams which spread into living a positive life style, impacting their communities, investing in stocks, real-estate and more while trying to make the world at large a better place.

The group which was founded by Ruth Akaba is changing the narrative of sister love, individual/community growth and transformation, amplifying the voices of the passionate ladies to an immutable stance the world over.

Back in Cameroon, the motherland of a good portion of the members, The Passionate Ladies Of Maryland, have been giving financial, material and moral assistance to the less privileged such as orphans, patients, the elderly and widows.
