The former Regional Secretary and Delegate for Communication for Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC) in the Far North, Haman Luka Toumba, has joined the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) and is now backing President Paul Biya's re-election bid.
This move comes after his resignation from MRC on Monday, July 28, 2025. Toumba cited development in his village, Kolafata, as a key reason for his decision, stating that CPDM leaders are best positioned to drive local progress.
Haman Luka Toumba was welcomed, this August 13, 2025, in Mora, by the president of the Mayo Sava North section, Chetima Hamidou, the Minister of Public Procurement, Ibrahim Talba Malla.
The latter was on a Divisional tour to assess the preparations for the presidential election of October 12, 2025 in this political unit.
To justify his rallying to the CPDM, Haman Luka Toumba, indicated that he resigned from the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon on July 28, assures that the development of his village, Kolafata, is one of his top priorities.
“In my locality in the Kolofata district, all the people and all the leaders who can develop my locality are from the CPDM," justified the former MRC member. From now on, Haman Luka Toumba intends to invest sustainably in the victory of Paul Biya, particularly in the presidential election on October 12.
