Oct 12 presidential polls: Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh assures Catholic Bishops of free, fair and transparent election

The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh on Thursday, August 13, 2025 assured Catholic Bishops of the State commitment for a free, fair and transparent comes October 12, 2025. 


He made these remarks during an audience he granted to the seven man delegation of the permanent Council of Bishops of the episcopal conference at the Unity Palace.


Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh thanked the Bishops on behalf of the Head of State and reaffirmed the Central role played by Bishops in their various Dioceses in promoting peace and social cohesion among their faithful.


The Minister of State called on political parties to reject all forms of hate speech but prioritizing peace. He then presented a positive report on the major projects already carried out by the Head of State, emphasising the importance of peace.


He expressed his hope that the bishops would play an important role in ensuring peace before, during, and after the elections. 


In his intervention, Archbishop Andrew Nkea the National president of Episcopal Conference of Cameroon said “Our message is simple that the church which follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace will continue to be at the service of Justice, reconciliation and peace in our nation and the world”


Bishop Andrew reiterated the bishops’ wish to have more regular consultation frameworks with the State authorities.
