Oct 12 poll: Prof. Nalova Lyonga, others express satisfaction with election process in Fako

The Minister of Secondary Education, who doubles as the Head of Permanent Divisional Delegate for Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) for Fako Division, Prof. Pauline Nalova Lyonga, and others have expressed their satisfaction with how the election process was conducted in Limbe.


They made these remarks on Sunday, October 12, 2025, during the presidential election in Limbe, Fako Division, South West Region.


Expressing her satisfaction, Prof. Nalova Lyonga said, “I feel elated. I'm very happy. One of the things I would like to say openly is that I'm proud of ELECAM. What I have seen here gives me great pride that Cameroonians and ELECAM can do something reliable.”


She also applauded the administrators for the security put in place for the safety of citizens who turned out to vote. After casting her vote, Prof. Nalova Lyonga said, “I'm happy I've done my part now.”


In his intervention, Fako Senior Divisional Officer (SDO), Engelbert Viang Mekala said, “As a good citizen, I have cast my vote.”


He explained that the voting exercise in Fako Division was launched at 8am according to the law. The Fako SDO applauded the smooth conduct of the campaign and the successful conclusion of the election in Fako Division.


On his part, Limbe City Mayor, Paul Efome L.M Ngale applauded the Government and the State for the democratisation enjoyed by Cameroonians. “I'm very happy to fulfill my civic responsibility to vote, which is an obligation for me as an individual.


The pre-election period saw active campaigning by political parties,” Paul Efome said. He stressed that the Government worked hard to ensure every citizen was part of the voting exercise.


“I'm happy and elated with my municipality for the massive turnout to cast their votes compared to previous elections in Limbe,” Paul Efome said.


The Divisional Officer for Limbe II Subdivision, Serge Meke Albert explained that by 7:30am everything was set and voting kicked off at 8am.


“The population was enthusiastic to cast their vote. Citizens showed their sense of maturity and responsibility with representatives of political parties present to observe the election process,” Serge Meke said.


Reacting to the press, the Mayor for Limbe II, HRM Chief Woka Ndive Daniel Ngale I expressed joy at the serenity in Limbe II municipality from the start of the campaign to the end of the election.


“I visited all the polling stations from 7:30am to ascertain the level of calmness, maturity, and friendly atmosphere in Limbe II municipality,” HRM Chief Woka Ndive said.
