Njombe: Fatal road accident claims 2, others injured

Two persons are said to have lost their life and others injured in a fatal road accident involving a General Express Voyages bus with a tanker truck early Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in Njombe, Moungo Division, Littoral region, Cameroon.

According to communique signed by General Express Voyages management, at about 5 am, a bus from Bafoussam to Douala collided with a tanker truck parked at the Entrée Hôpital Saint Jean de Malte, in Njombé . 

KNews gathered that the transport vehicle, registered LT 215 JT, had left Bafoussam at 12:45 am. Its believe the exceptional violence, caused the death of two passengers instantly and left several injured, currently being treated in local hospitals. 

With the support of local authorities, the General Management of General Voyages immediately implemented all necessary measures to ensure full care of the injured. 

The General Management of General Express Voyages, in a press release, expressed its deep sadness and assured that all measures have been taken to ensure the medical and psychological follow-up of the victims.

“We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and send our most supportive thoughts to the injured. We thank all the authorities, emergency services, health personnel and partners for their constant support in this painful circumstance.” General Voyages management said.

The transport agency reaffirms its commitment in placing safety and human life at the heart of its priorities, in strict compliance with the regulations in force.
