Entrepreneurship is gaining momentum in Dschang as the MTN Skills Academy equips over 1,700 young people with foundational capabilities to ideate, brand, communicate, and operate safely online.
With 1,430 certifications awarded, the program has planted seeds for a new wave of micro-entrepreneurs and digital creators.
Training covered digital identity management, professional communication, basic cybersecurity, and the use of online platforms that support e-commerce, content creation, and early-stage venture building.
Participants explored how to translate community needs into service ideas, test assumptions quickly, and leverage accessible tools to kickstart their projects.
By nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets and practical digital fluency, MTN Cameroon is contributing to a pipeline of job creators, not only job seekers.
This aligns with broader development goals: enabling youth-led innovation, stimulating local value chains, and fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
MTN remains deeply committed to contributing to Cameroon’s socioeconomic development by empowering its youth with the skills needed to shape the nation’s digital future.
The partnership with the University of Dschang ensures credibility, scale, and continuity, an approach that can support deal flow into incubators, accelerators, and corporate innovation programs in the future.
