The inhabitants of Mokeba Farms in Limbe I Subdivision have been told not to deposit their garbage on the street but to deposit it at the garbage point at Scorer City Junction.

The call was made by the representative of the Limbe City Mayor, the Secretary General of the Limbe City Council, Kinge Thompson Molongo, on Friday, December 12, 2025, during the inauguration of the garbage disposal point.

“I think this is a good move by Mokeba Farms traditional Council members. I wish others would emulate so it can help reduce garbage littering our streets,” Kinge Thompson said. He encouraged inhabitants to gather their garbage and throw it inside the trash bin so HYSACAM can collect it easily.

In his intervention, the quarter head of Mokeba Farms, Teke George, said that since 2018, when he was installed as the quarter head of Mokeba Farms, he was instructed that hygiene and sanitation should be one of his top priorities.

That is why he thought it wise to rally his inhabitants and friends abroad of goodwill to contribute and build a garbage disposal point where garbage will be kept for HYSACAM to collect.

“This project was realized thanks to our brothers and sisters at home and abroad, Limbe I Council, Soccer City, Royal Pearl Hotel, Rapha Pharmacy, among others,” he said.

“We’re calling on the inhabitants to carefully throw their garbage inside the garbage bin and not on the floor so as to keep everyone safe from sickness and diseases,” Teke George said.

On his part, the chairman of Mokeba Farms traditional Council, Njoh Ndele Sammy, said, “We’re begging Coconut Island and Mbende inhabitants using this trash bin to follow the rules and regulations to make sure they throw their dirty inside, not on the street.”
