Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), campaign chair for Fako IV Senator Papinatu Fonderson, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, launched campaign in Tiko and Likomba zones and installed quarter and village committee members.

Speaking during the event at Tiko grandstand, Senator Papinatu Fonderson said that as inhabitants of Tiko Subdivision, they have every reason to be happy with the actions of President Paul Biya.

“When we look around, we see the achievements of our local institutions and equally the realisation of our Subdivision thanks to the open-door policy of the Head of State. We have every reason to encourage our militants to massively vote for Biya,” Senator Papinatu Fonderson said.

He added that although they were installing quarter and village committee members, they had been working on the ground.

Senator Papinatu urged the newly installed committee members to embark on a door-to-door campaign to mobilise militants from all corners of Tiko Subdivision. He applaud them for the marvelous job they have done so far.

On his part, the Mayor of Tiko Council, HRM Ikome Peter Messoso II, said that since 2020, when he took over office, Tiko has benefited from many developmental projects under the current regime, which is why they need to re-elect Biya.

He announced that the general hospital bridge project has already been awarded to a contractor who will begin construction work in the days ahead.

"Biya has special attention for Tiko Municipality. This is why Tiko is the gateway town to the South West Region. We have to massively vote for Biya as an eloquent testimony to what we have benefited from him,” HRM Ikome Messoso II said.

The Section President for Fako IV, Hon. Andrew Efite, urged militants to get their voter’s card and galvanise votes for Biya as the October 12 presidential election approaches.

He cautioned militants not to be deceived by adversaries who might lead Cameroon into more chaos than what it is facing now.

Speaking earlier, the Subsection president for Tiko zone, Nyam Calvin Ngimbom, said President Biya is not standing on his own; militants requested him to stand as their candidate, reason why they are supposed to support him for victory.

He dispelled the notion that political pundits say Biya is old. “So if a tree is old should we cut it off though still producing? He questioned.
