MINJEC to empower 200 young motorcycle entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, MINJEC, headed by Minister, Mounouna Foutsou has announced a project to create job opportunity for 200 young Cameroonians in the motorcycle transport sector. He made this revelation recently in Yaounde.
According to the Minister, project is aimed to provide financial support to 200 young entrepreneurs to enable them to acquire motorcycle and establish income-generating activities to be self-employed.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must; Be Cameroonian nationals - Be aged 17 to 35 - Be registered with the National Youth Observatory- Posss a biometric Youth Card issued by the Observatory-Be unemployed - Be ready to use the motorcycle exclusively for professional purpose.
To realizes this project, the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education has partnered with fintech company Yunus S.A. and financial institution People Finance S.A. to implement this initiative.
“This initiative is a significant step towards empowering young Cameroonians and promoting economic growth, by providing access to financial resources and support, the government.” Mounouna Foutsou said.
He added that these young entrepreneurs will take control of their futures and contribute to the development of their communities.
It should be noted that a committee comprises of the representatives from the Ministry of MINJCE, Yunus S.A. and People Finance S.A. will conduct the final selection of candidates.
