From our point of view, tourism is definitely a game changer tourism is the game changer in job creation across the world. Globally the tourism sector provides 10% of the jobs while one tourist generates 60 jobs.
The Tourism industry is a major employer on African continent which supporting millIons of job directly and indirectly.
It is the vision of MEVCUDA to contribute to boosting the tourism sector in Cameroon which will encourage more tourists to visit Cameroon and more investors for the socioeconomic growth of the country.
It is interesting to note that some of our unemployment issues can find solutions in the tourism industry if we understand the value tourism has to offer and harness the strength of its various sectors.
During the 11th edition of MEVCUDA, the event had in attendance some diplomatic and administrative authorities including; the Governor of the South West Region H.E Bernard Okalia Bilai, the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Mr. Engelbert Viang Mekala, the Indonesian Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E Isman Pasha, traditional authorities in and out of the country among others.
One of MEVCUDA’s three pillar strategies is cultural integration. So, the Assembly falls in line with the organisation’s desire to promote tourism as seen in the past 11th editions.
With the upcoming 12th edition activities will feature; traditional wrestling, podium talks, music concert, cultural manifestation, exhibition among others.
