At least three people have died, and multiple others were injured in a road accident that occurred yesterday on National Road Number 5, specifically in Nkoungsoung, a locality in Melong, Moungo division of the Littoral region.

According to reports, a citerne truck belonging to Socatrans SARL collided with an interurban transport bus named Papa Ngassi, which had departed from Douala en route to the West region.

The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear; however, preliminary investigations revealed that the bus driver became distracted during a heated argument with one of the passengers, lost control of the vehicle, and subsequently collided with the truck, resulting in fatalities and injuries, with some victims sustaining fractures to their legs and arms.

By press time, all injured individuals had been transported to nearby medical facilities in Nkongsamba and Melong for treatment.
