Who doesn't remember Henry Njalla Quan, the imposing and charismatic two-meter-tall born leader from Bonabile village who made Limbe Great Again?
Since his passing on December 13, 2012, memories of his humility, simplicity, managerial savvy, and love for his hometown and people still hang over Limbe like streetlights.
In 1996, Henry Njalla Quan entered Limbe with a bang, changing the approach to municipal management and development as a pioneering Government Delegate to the town's Urban Council.
Later, as General Manager of the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC), Henry Njalla Quan would make his positive impact felt in most sectors of city life.
As a 'Big Brother' to the people of Limbe, Njalla Quan's heart was as big as his hands. He gave generously to those who sought his assistance, provided jobs to countless people, and transformed lives.
-Samuel Lifanda Ebiama
Limbe's second government delegate & school proprietor Bonangombe village royal son Samuel Lifanda Ebiama became Limbe's government delegate in 1998, replacing the pioneer, Henry Njalla Quan, who was appointed CDC general manager. Before his appointment, Lifanda was a businessman after years of with Cameroon Bank.
His top-flight political career began in the late 1980s with his ascension to the helm of the one-party CPDM as Limbe Subsection president, following an upset victory over the incumbent.
He was replaced as government delegate by Andrew Motanga. Lifanda is also proprietor of Spring of Wisdom, a nursery and primary school in Down beach.
It should be noted that on November 28-29 Bonabile’s Chief will be coronated. The village late Henry Njalla Quan came from. Come one, come all.
