In recent years, Limbe has been gaining greater attention from international spheres thanks to TV documentaries in which late Muema Meombo M’esanja Loni (MM) was either host or resource person.

His mastery of the historical, cultural, business and even touristic assets of the city made him a key player in the promotion of the City of Limbe's image as a tourist and investment destination.

African Americans visiting the Bimbia Slave Trade Village found in Muema Meombo an informed guide. Meanwhile, he was also a key brain behind the maiden edition of the Limbe Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC).

The Bimbia Prince's passing onto glory has since left a vacuum which initiatives like "Invest in Limbe" are only attempting to fill.

Born in Victoria (Limbe) in 1956 to Muema m'Esanja and Likowo la Muema, Muema Meombo could have remained a teacher after obtaining his Teacher's Grade Two Certificate and London GCE Ordinary Level or proceeded to the Military Academy in Yaounde after his "préparation militaire" that made him a military reservist.

But it was in broadcasting that late Muema Meombo became famous and his Baritone voice, a trademark. Back in 1976, he passed the test for the recruitment of Broadcasters, organised by the then Ministry of Information and Culture.

He was assigned to the National Station of what was then Radio Cameroon. After an in-house training, he joined the Programmes Department, specialising in Entertainment.

He later obtained a Diploma in Broadcasting during a scholarship in Cairo Egypt and was appointed Bureau Chief for Variety Music and Entertainment at the National Station. Transferred later to Buea, Muema Meombo severally served as Chief of Programmes and News.

He retired from the Civil Service after three decades and became self-employed as a Communication, Tourism and Investment Consultant in Limbe.

We’re using this platform to invite you for our coronation in Bonabile, Bimbia on November 28-29. Come one, come all!
