The Lord Mayor of Limbe I Council, Madam Florence Mbwaye Eposi, is being credited with driving visible change across the municipality through projects focused on education, infrastructure, gender equality, and social support.
Under her leadership, the council has prioritized basic service delivery and community welfare. In Lower Bosumbo village, solar street lamps have been installed to improve safety at night.
In schools, hundreds of benches and tables have been donated, while existing classrooms have been renovated to create better learning conditions.
The council has also secured funding for the Presbyterian Nurses School in Limbe.
According to council records, development projects under the 2026 budget, estimated at over FCFA 1.6 billion, have targeted vulnerable groups.
These include the free distribution of birth certificates to children, mass marriages to secure women’s legal rights, and financial assistance to victims of the Mokeba Farms fire.
The Mayor also intervened administratively by clearing two months of salary arrears for council staff ahead of the school resumption period. During festive periods, she has been involved in direct support to widows, widowers, and orphans.
Eposi’s efforts in modernizing civil status services through digital technology have been highlighted as part of efforts to make official documents more accessible and transparent.
Her work earned her the Best Female Mayor 2024 award from the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association.
