The Sub-Delegate of Agriculture and Rural Development for Eyumojock Mme Etonenkwelle Grace Munge and the Mayor of Eyumojock Council Ntufam Ayamba Jacques recently donated farming equipment to farmers of Eyumjock Subdivision worth FCFA 23000, 000 with the aim of improving the socio-economic situation of Cooperatives, common initiative groups and that of small and large scale farmers during a ceremony co-chaired by the Mayor and Sub-Delegate.
Speaking at the occasion, Mme Etonenkwelle Grace urged beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and farming inputs donated to them by the government and improve productivity in quantity and quality; she further admonished beneficiaries not to sell the farming equipment and inputs ranging from cassava processing equipment, Mist blowers, Tarpaulins, wheelbarrows, cutlasses, spraying canes, push carts, spades, diggers, fungicides, insecticides, fertilizers, rain boots amongst others.
The Sub-Delegate said, “The donation fallswithin the government’s framework of integrated livelihood promotion within Eyumojock communities in the South West Region of Cameroon.”

In addition, she advised farmers, cooperatives, CIGs and the general public of Eyumojock Sub-Division to regularly visit her office for regular agricultural information updates.
The beneficiaries representing; 7 cooperatives, 26 cocoa CIGs, 20 cassava CIGs, 25 large scale cocoa farmers, 7 large scale cassava producers, 3 large scale oil palm farmers and 24 Gardeners were on hand to grease the donation ceremony.
The Mayor on his part told the beneficiaries that more is still to come and advised the population to stay steadfast and respect republican institutions. He also lauded the Governments initiative for assisting farmers, whom he described as the most important in our society.
The beneficiaries thank the government for such a kind gesture to their favor at this time of political and economic stagnation.
