Manila FC crowned champions of Prince complex holiday tourney

Manila FC has been crowned the champion of the maiden edition of the Prince Complex Holiday Tournament in Bonadikombo Mile 4, Limbe, after defeating Kedjom FC 2-1 on Sunday, September 7, 2025. 


The match, which kickoff at 3pm at the General Processor Field Mile 4, Limbe saw Manila FC player Bouba Yindui opened score through a penalty shot at 15 minutes of play.


Kedjom FC mounted pressure and struggled to equalise, with Paul Obi's shot in the 38th minute being a notable attempt. After the recess, both teams were determined to grab the trophy, but failed to cement it to goal.


At the 85th minute, Manila FC player Frank Luma Mafany netted a goal from an 18-meter box shot, securing a 2-1 win for Manila FC. 


Speaking shortly after the encounter, Princewill Awonfor, the vision bearer and Chief Executive Officer of Prince Complex Hotel, expressed joy over the successful tournament. He announced plans to organise another edition next year with a prize sum of FCFA 4 million. 


He stated that the aim of the tournament was to productively occupy youths during the holiday period, encouraging them to abstain from drug consumption and other illicit activities. 


Princewill Awonfor also explained that the tournament was designed to promote the Prince Complex Hotel, Wotutu-Mile 4 road know for its clean lodge, moderate prices, affordability for everyone, classic amenities and much more.


The tournament, which kickoff on July 20, featured 17 teams and was placed under the patronage of the Second Deputy Limbe City Mayor, Kountchou Emmanuel dubbed "Living Together."

El-Dorado FC won best discipline team, Loyal Abako FC grabbed best fan club team, Oben Kalibright of Manila FC won youngest player, Asang Nehemiah of Back-to-back FC won best coach, Alberto Junior grabbed man of the match, Motale of Quarter 12 FC won best player of the tournament.


Back-to-back FC grabbed 4th place with FCFA 100,000 with medals, Quarter 12 emerged 3rd place with FCFA 200,000 with medals, Kedjom FC emerged second runner up with FCFA 500,000, trophy and medals and the champions received FCFA 1000,000, trophy and medals.
