BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA

The Director of the Advanced Vocational Training Centre in Mile 4, Limbe has lamented the very low enrolment of trainees into the institution which constitutes a major set-back inhibiting the Centre from functioning to full capacity.

Ngoe Emmanuel Oseaka named low enrollment and other challenges that have posed problems to the institution. He spoke on Saturday, March 18 during the graduation of 339 trainees at the school campus at Bonadikombo Mile 4 Limbe.

He added that the event was dedicated for the cumulative graduation ceremony of five batches of trainees of the Limbe Advanced Vocational Training Centre.

He appreciated the Fako administration for the vigilance and relentless efforts to ensure a climate of serenity in Limbe and its environs; which climate is the reason for a successful organization of the ceremony.

The representative of the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, the Regional Delegate of Employment and Vocational Training Orock Thomas has urged 339 graduates of the Advanced Vocational Training Mile 4 Limbe to be good ambassadors of the institution wherever they find themselves in the job market.

“Everyone sitting here should be the ambassadors of vocational training campaigner. The current educational system of Cameroon doesn’t respond to the needs of young Cameroonians” Orock Thomas said.

He added that the Government of Cameroon attaches a lot of importance on Vocational Training that is why the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training was created to cater for the needs of the unemployed through training.

Orock said the emergence of Cameroon cannot be attained without technicians. “Cameroon now needs more technicians than academicians and the government is sparing no effort in trying to revamp and make sure vocational training should remain on the rise.” Orock Thomas said.

He went on to say the Government of Cameroon is doing everything possible to make sure that all the corners of Cameroon have a least one or two equipped vocational training and one trained staff that is why the fees has been brought down from FCFA 500,000 to FCFA 150,000 to make vocational training more affordable to everyone.
