Popular Limbe business guru, Mfonyo Tanyi Mbu Kelvin popularly known as "Awilo" will be laid to rest today Saturday March 15, 2025 in his native village Etemetek village in Manyu Division, South West Region of Cameroon.
Prelude to his burial today, the family organised a funeral church service at Limbe Community Field where hundreds of mourners showed up to give their respect to the fallen Limbe’s business guru.
Speaking during the service, the officiating ministers of God, Eyakwe Joseph Tata Nangunda who was accompanied by his collaborator.
Rev. Eyakwe Joseph captioned his service “No one knows Tomorrow” drawn from Jame 4:13-16 said so many people especially the youths procrastinate a lot on taking a decision on the relationship with their creator.
“Everyday they say tomorrow or next year or during Christmas, I’ll come to God. Some say business doesn’t give me space to worship God, some will say allow me to enjoy my life” Rev. Eyakwe Joseph said.
He added that scripture warned against boosting and making plans for the future without including God in it.
“People boost about their lives and look down on others as less human being. James remains us that no matter our positions and wealth in life our lives will one day disappear like vapour ” Rev Eyakwe Joseph emphasised.
Enter center of accusation during the funeral service
“God please help us in this battle, fight for Tanyi. I can't stop crying, all your struggles in this wicked world were in vain. Do not rest until your killers are brought to shame” Manyi sister to the awilo said.
“Despite your dead, I have been accused that, I killed you. Why on earth will, I do such a thing.” Karen Tanyi wife of the deceased emphasised.
“We hard plans, dreams and a bigger picture with our girls, why did you cut it short? You had your short comings but you will provide and protect me and our girls like your life depend on us”,
“How will, I go on with life after all, I had in my head was the promises and plans that we had together baby? We had plans to tour the world. Life is unfair, I swear, this world is a wicked place.” Mrs. Karen Tanji told mourners.
This reporter later gathered that the family are allegedly accusing the deceased close associate whom all appeared at the ceremonial ground dressed in white.
They maintained that the dead of their son is unclear. “Normal stomach ache could not snatched the life of our son” family head Manyi said.

Mfonyo Tanyi Mbu Kelvin popularly known as "Awilo" was born on the 25th of August 1985 in Mamfe to Pa Ako Mfonyo and Ma Maria Agbor.
All indigenes of Manyu Division South West Region of Cameroon. Tanyi Mbu was the 5th out of 7 children amongst whom were 2 boys and 5 girls.
EDUCATION & BUSINESS LIFE
Tanyi started his educational journey at Government Practicing School Egbekaw where he obtained his First school Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Government High School Mamfe.
After his secondary and high school education, he decided to delve into the business world where he excelled tremendously until his demise on Sunday the Sunday February 9, 2025.
PERSONAL LIFE
Tanyi Mbu was happily married. He was a hard working dad and husband which every woman would like to have. He shared uncommon moments with his family.
He leaves behind his lovely wife, 2 amazing daughters, father, mother, siblings, cousins and a host of other family members and friends to mourn him.
SOCIAL & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS
Tanyi was a bona-fide member of several social groups such as Manyu Home Boys, La Reunion Area code veteran just to name a few.
Tanyi's love for entertainment made him outstanding. whenever there was an event. He was a developer and a philanthropist too.
He was so much involved in community development in the areas of sports, education and basic social amenities such as light. Due to his community involvement, he donated solar panels in his village Etemetek in Manyu division.
He equally impacted the lives of young Cameroonians in his village through the donation of books and other diadetic materials.
RELIGIOUS LIFE
He was a lapse Christian who worshipped at Presbyterian Church Bota Middle Farms with his family.
