Limbe Paramount Chief installs first female quarter head of Momboh North

In a significant step in promoting inclusive leadership and greater participation of women in traditional community governance. 


The Paramount Chief of Limbe, HM John Elufa Manga Williams, on Monday, June 8, 2026, in his palace at Mbonjo, Limbe III Subdivision, installed the first female quarter head of Momboh North, Vivian Manga Williams in his reign as Paramount Chief of Limbe.


Speaking during the event, Alex Haddison, thanked guests for attending despite the rainy weather. 


He described the gathering as a special occasion and expressed optimism that participants would leave with memorable experiences from the historic event.  


Speaking during the ceremony, the Paramount Chief of Limbe said the appointment of Madam Vivian Manga Williams was based on confidence in her ability to serve the community. 


Speaking during the event, HM John Elufa Manga Williams insisted on strict respect of hygiene and sanitation, fight against insecurity by creating vigilante groups and to ensure they collaborate with administration.


He cautioned the Vivian Manga Williams not to act as traditional ruler but that she auxiliary to the administration and the Limbe traditional council.


The Paramount Chief stressed the need for community collaboration, encouraging residents to support their new Quarter Head in addressing challenges affecting the neighborhood. 


Reacting shortly after her installation, Vivian Manga Williams said she feel elated that at the level of the Chiefdom she is a quarter head of Momoh North 


She appreciated the Paramount Chief and his wisemen for appointing her as quarter head of Mopoh North. She promised to support the Paramount Chief to promote the culture and living together.


A nurse by profession, she pledged to lead with integrity, fairness, transparency, and dedication. 


She further called on youths, women, elders, and other stakeholders to work together for the peace, unity, and development of the community. 


The over 30 Mopoh traditional Council members unanimously took the resolution to maintain peace and stability in their quarter  and to assist the Paramount Chief in propelling development in his Chiefdom.
