Speaking during the event, the Founder of Mother Gladys Medical Foundation, Dr Tanyi Oben stated that the back to school programme now in its second edition is driven by the belief that education is the greatest legacy one can give for the betterment of the society.

He said that it was part of efforts to encourage pupils and students from underprivileged backgrounds in their academic pursuit amid prevailing socio-economic challenges, while encouraging them to focus on their potentials rather than their limitations.

Dr. Oben further urged the beneficiaries to be thoroughly focused on their studies which essentially constitutes the foundation for the fulfillment of their destinies.

He encouraged them to implement and follow the values of Mother Mother Gladys Medical Foundation; respect, honesty and accountability.

The reproductive and infertility medicine expert advised parents to prioritise their children's well-being, emphasising that in spite of the current economic hardships, a child's educational development remains crucial.

Speaking earlier, parents of the beneficiaries lauded Dr Oben for taking personal interest in offering hope to the needy, especially the underprivileged and Internally displaced persons.

They said the donation has relieved them the burden to be shouldered as school resumption neared.

The Beneficiaries, on their part, expressed words of appreciation to the Foundation for always making it possible for the event to take place.

They remarked further that Dr Oben's generosity and dedication to the advancement of education, was such that commend itself as an inspiring example worthy of emulation by everyone.

The beneficiaries expressed excitement to resume school after receiving the materials, promising to make good use of the school needs as they face the new academic year.

Other personalities present also took time to applaud the gesture, which according to them, has gone a long way in recognising the challenges that IDPs face, and intervening accordingly to complement the effort in putting them on competent academic footing.

The Mother Gladys Medical Foundation in collaboration with partners also paid the tuition fees of some selected underprivileged children.

The Mother Gladys Medical Foundation also used the event to mark its 3rd anniversary.
