King Black Welfare Association, an Information, Communication and Technology (I.C.T) institution in Limbe and National Employment Fund (NEF) South West launched a partnership agreement on Friday, July 4, 2025, to upgrade the skills of LED TV and phone repair technicians.

The ceremony was held at the King Black Welfare Association campus in Mile I, Limbe, Fako Division, South West Region, Cameroon.

Speaking during the event, Nugang Clement Devalla, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of King Black Welfare Association, said the aim of the partnership is to empower 10 LED TV and 15 cellphone technicians for four months with modern and updated techniques and tools, making service delivery more efficient, effective, and sustainable.

He hailed the sponsorship of the National Employment Fund for their 14-year collaboration. "We decided to initiate this partnership to ensure city dwellers benefit from professional and efficient electronic repair services and skill-related programs," Nugang Clement said.

He added that the training's outcome would help reduce delays in repair services, as technicians wouldn't need to refer some challenges to Douala, a factor in delayed service delivery.

"We thank the National Employment Fund for trusting us with this great task, and we pray God Almighty to see us through this training," Nugang Clement said, thanking staff, family members, and other personalities for witnessing the launch.

He urged them to give trainees the support they needed throughout the training.

In her intervention, Mrs. Susan Loko Mbella Epse Mbi, Regional Director of the National Employment Fund's South West region, described the training as wonderful, emphasising its focus on upgrading existing skills.

“We're in a competitive world; you can attest that most clients rush to Douala when their TVs break down. This training will reduce transportation costs," Susan Mbi explained, she urged trainees to acquire additional values to sell themselves in the competitive job market.

Roland Abang, one of the trainees, appreciated the initiators, saying, "I think this is a step for us to upgrade our skills in TV and phone repair. We promise to invest our time and energy for a successful outcome of this project."
