Limbe II council adopts budget, mayor prioritizes roads for 2022

Limbe II Council on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 adopted the sum of FCFA 715, 000,000 million as budget for the 2022 financial year with emphasis on construction of roads and water in 2022. This was during the second ordinary session of the council.


According to the Mayor for Limbe II council HRH chief Woka Ndive Ngale I, the budget is balanced in both revenue and expenditure at the sum of FCFA 715,000,000 million.

Recurrent revenue stands at FCFA 323,590,000, Investment revenue FCFA 391,410,000 and recurrent expenditure FCFA 427,290,000 and investment expenditure FCFA 287,710,000.


The Mayor cited some developmental projects realised in 2021 which includes; Maintenance of the main road to Batoke chiefs palace, rehabilitation of GS Batoke, support to vulnerable population, support to fight against plastic packaging, construction of road from Big John to Botaland among others.


“Councils are facing a lot of difficulties due to the crisis that started in the year 2016 and the covid-19 too that came to worsen the situation.” Mayor Woka Daniel said.

He appreciated the SDO for Fako for support and tireless effort to the entire population of Limbe II Subdivision and equally the Minister of Decentralisation for his timely assistance to the Limbe II Council. He also appreciated the Councillors for their peaceful collaboration.


The Senior Divisional Officer’s representative to the session, the Divisional Officer for Limbe II, Albert Serge Meke called on the population of Limbe II to put more efforts towards the cleanliness of the city’s with AFCON in sight.

He said Limbe should not only be known as the cleanest city in the nation, but should also be seen as such by the visitors who will come into the country for the games. Albert Serge urged the councillors to continue working as a team in fine tuning development strategies to meet the needs of the population.


HRH Chief Woka Ndive noted that "It we identified that some communities do not adequately benefits from Development Projects from the Council due to lack of land, which is the capital investment to realise such projects”.

Added that, the budget is an ambition and realistic budget, he’s optimistic that they will realise so many projects in the municipality. In that line, the council will step up the revenue sources.

“Most of our communities are not link by secondary roads, so we think we have to prioritise pipe borne water to increase the existing catchment with the sim of FCFA 100 million.” HRH Chief Woka Ndive said.
