The Mayor to the Limbe I Council, Madam Mbwaye Eposi Florence, has donated 200 chairs and 50 tables to four nursery schools in the municipality.
The handing-over ceremony took place Thursday at the Limbe I Council premises in Bota. Presenting the items, Mayor Mbwaye Eposi said the gesture follows the rehabilitation and construction of classrooms in some schools in Limbe I about two months ago.
She said it is intended to get the beneficiary institutions ready for a smooth 2026/2027 school year. The Mayor urged headteachers of the recipient schools — GNS Busumbu, GPNS Mile 1 Group I, GPNS Mile 1 Group II, and GNS Mabeta New Layout to safeguard the items.
“Use the items jealously so that next time more will be added, instead of replacing what you already have,” she told them.
For their part, the headteachers applauded the Mayor for the annual gesture and promised to use the tables and chairs for their intended purpose and to take good care of them.
They said the donation is timely, adding that most of their existing chairs and tables are in very poor condition.
Representative of the beneficiary schools said they are happy the Mayor has made the donation a routine yearly activity that “puts smiles on their faces.”
They prayed that God should continue to bless her, keep her strong, and enable her to sustain the good work.
