Limbe I Mayor donates 100 chairs to widows’ associations

Limbe I Mayor, Madam Mbwaye Eposi Florenceon Wednesday, June 23, 2026, during the International Widows’ Day at 

Limbe Women's Empowerment Centre donated a total of 100 plastic chairs to two widows’ associations Social Widows Association( SOWA) and Bonadikombo Widow’s Association (BOWA).


The women danced and shouted for joy after receiving the items, thanking the Mayor of the Limbe I Municipality.


“We are extremely happy for all that Madam Mayor Eposi has given us,” one beneficiary said. “The chairs that the Limbe I Mayor has given us, we shall rent out and, of course, make more money to help ourselves,” said Mrs. Nzallaga Augustine, President of BOWA. 


“Today, we want to thank Mama, the Mayor of the Limbe I Council for their generous donations to us. We pray that God replenishes their sources and bless them," Ms Otilia Mbong, the President of SOWA added. 


It should be noted that Minister Nalova handed over a cash envelope of FCFA 300,000, the Limbe City Mayor donated huge food consignment that consist of bags of rice, oil, salt among others.


The President of SOWA, Otilia Mbong explained that the Association began on August 11, 2008 with over 500 members.


She use the opportunity to plead with the power that be to seek for last solution to end the ongoing Anglophone crisis which has resulted to more widows in their Association because of dead of their husbands.
