The Mayor of Limbe I Council, Mbwaye Eposi Florence, has put smiles on the faces of her staff by clearing off the two-month salary arrears owed to them.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, staff gathered in front of the Limbe I Council office at Cite Sic Bota, singing songs of joy and blessing Mayor Mbwaye Eposi for her motherly love towards them.
Speaking on behalf of the Limbe I Council staff, Secretary General, Nganchi Pamela Nkwentamo expressed gratitude to the Mayor for her constant love and support.
She added that they had been stressed about how they would send their children back to school on September 8, with schools reopening nationwide, but were pleasantly surprised to receive an alert from the bank.
“We thank you, Mami Mayor, for not failing in your God-given assignment concerning us. We sincerely appreciate you for the motherly love," Nganchi Pamela said.
In her intervention, the Pathfinder Mayor, Mbwaye Eposi Florence, expressed surprise and joy at seeing her staff welcoming her with jubilation and dancing with songs of joy.
"I was amazed to see my staff dancing and presenting me with a gift as a sign of love for what I have done and what I'm doing for them," Mayor Mbwaye added.
She emphasised that despite Limbe I Council's financial constraints, they prioritise salary payments over other aspects. Mayor Mbwaye called on her staff to give their best, as the Council is prioritising their salaries, and urged revenue collectors to continue being honest in their revenue collection.
“I wish to appreciate everyone who is working with us to help us succeed in Limbe I municipality," Mayor Mbwaye said.
This move by Mayor Mbwaye Eposi pundits say it has brought relief to employees who were worried about sending their children back-to-school on Monday, September 8, 2025.
