The Limbe I Council in its yearly commitment handed didactic materials to head teachers of the basic education sector on Friday, September 17, 2021. The event took place in the conference hall of Limbe I council. The didactic materials comprised of chalk, books, rulers, erasers, math sets among others.
Speaking during the event, the mayor, Mbwaye Eposi Florence said the year 2021 has been a very difficult one in the educational sector, council and country. He regretted the fact that very few tax payers succeeded to pay tax.
The mayor praised the Limbe I basic education family and said due to the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West Regions, Limbe I Subdivision recorded the highest number of children in school and urged them to continue, with the good collaboration of administrators.
“I know that someday you must go but while you are there, continue to impact and do the best that you can so that tomorrow those children shall see you on the road and will say these are the teachers who braved the odds to impact knowledge upon us” Mayor Mbwaye Eposi encouraged. Earlier on, the inspector of basic education for Limbe I Mbua Martin thanked the mayor for his good gesture to facilitate the minimum package to come at this early period and said it is sensitive and delighting and goes a long way to assist in the teaching and learn process. Mbua cautioned head teachers to use the didactic materials adequately and said they will continue to embark on door to door campaigns to get other children to the classroom. He equally announced that in the days ahead a team will be sent to schools to supervise how teachers are using the materials given to them.
