Limbe: Elderly Home set to go operational February 27

In African culture, the elderly have always been held in high esteem, and accorded special social status. They are a source of wisdom, influencing who we aspire to be. 


Reason why Theresa Care Home (TECAH) has come to put smiles on the faces of the old and elderly parents, orphans, youths, internally displayed people (IDPs), street children and widows, giving them hope and a future.


Speaking to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TECAH, Miss Taku Noela Amuan she explained that she took upon herself to establish this foundation which will officially kickoff on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Pa Ekane’s street, Quarter 17, Samco, Mile 4 Limbe at 2pm.


Quizzed what push her to embark in this project she explained that the vision of TECAH first begun in September, 2019 during the final days of her late grandmother Mama Theresa Wakia.


“She was amongst the most unique grandmothers in the world who had a heart of gold and because of her unique nature, the Home was named after her.” Taku Noela said.


She added that TECAH was just a vision without realization in 2019 and became legalized by the government of Cameroon which marked the start of its realization on the November 8, 2022 with authorization.


It should be noted that TECAH is aimed to create opportunities for both youths and adults to enable them develop and discover their hidden potentials. 


TECAH is a care platform to the old/elderly parents, to assist those with mental disabilities with rehabilitation facilities and to visit and donate gifts to orphans, IDPs, widows, elderly and the less privileged.
