A clothes vendor whose name KNews got as Ako Elvis Ebai, was on Tuesday, August 26, crushed to death by a speeding car at St. John Catholic Church, Kumba Town.
Ako Elvis was hit by car he was about to install some clothes for sale. The private car, driven by the daughter of a Kumba-based pastor, was reported to have left the Kumba Town end of the city towards the Central Business District, before the crash.
The car swept the vendor off guard and pulled down a pillar before it halted. Ako Elvis is said to have died on the spot while the lady is reported to have gone unconscious, allegedly from the shock and impact of the accident.
Express FM hinted that the victim was ferried to the Kumba Regional Hospital Annex where he was pronounced death by medics. The lady was also taken to same health facility for medical attention.
While many have blamed the accident on over speeding, others relate it to recklessness and lack of mastery in the art of driving.
Our source says the deceased was an ex-stundent of the Cameroon College of Arts and Science, CCAS, Kumba graduated in 2002 and registered member of the ex-student union CCASKESA.
