King Black Welfare Association empowers youths with digital skills

The King Black Welfare Association Limbe has graduated 13 graphic and web designers, thanks to sponsorship from National Employment Fund (NEF).
The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the esplanade of NEF in GRA Bota, Limbe, Fako Division, South West region, Cameroon.
This initiative aims to equip young people with valuable digital skills, enhancing their employability and opportunities for personal growth.
The program underscores the importance of investing in youth development and digital literacy.
Speaking during the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of King Black Welfare Association, Nugang Clement Devalla said the aim of the computer training course was to empower job seekers with various skills in ICT for business enhancement, Graphic design and website design.
To the graduating batch he said; “Today makers a significant milestone in your lives as you stand on the threshold of a new beginning, armed with knowledge, skills and attitude acquired during your time at the various training center”
He extended his deepest gratitude to his dedicated staff and industry partners who supported his trainees on this journey.
“The success today is a testimony of your unwavering commitment to excellence in education” Nugang Celement added.
The CEO of King Black Association appreciated NEF for partnering with them to ensure sustainability development through the use of new technologies by training job seekers in such fields.
“Your contribution to the transformation of the lives of youths cannot be overemphasised. Other training centers here are also graduating trainees in beauty and esthetics; fashion design and event planning; and community”,
“Management, all of which are skills that have transformed the lives of these graduates from job seekers to job creators.” Nugang Celement stated.
On his part, Ngwa Akongnwi who spoke on behalf of his peers said they have learned the importance of discipline and good sportsmanship through activities like participating in seminars, learn team work to achieve common goals, and had a lot of fun doing it.
In her intervention, the Regional Director of NEF South West Region Loko Mbella Epse Mbi said;
“Today you are a graduate, which is an achievement! Remember that this training has cost the NEF a huge fortune to execute, considering that it is free. Therefore, make use of this opportunity and become a job creator. Just like Mme Forshi, Foto Carine, Njeiforbi, Bobdidy, who are our success stories”
Brief background of King Black Welfare Association
King Black Welfare Association. Founded in May 2008, the association's mission is to use innovative computer literacy and diverse skills development programs as vectors for youth and women's empowerment, sustainable development, and positive social change in line with the Head of State's vision of making Cameroon an emerging economy by the year 2035, with young people taking the driving seat on the bus headed for that destination.
King Black has umbrella Ministries such as; Youth Affairs and Civic Education (MINJEC) and Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP), with whom they have worked and continue to work closely, promote digital literacy and diverse skills development for all.
Since its creation King Black Association has partnered with the National Employment Fund and other stakeholders, granted study scholarships to thousands of less privileged and physically challenged youths.
