The DigiMark office at Ekie, Yaoundé, was the vibrant hub of innovation on Friday, August 22, 2025 as the “Student Tech Innovation Showcase 2025” captivated an audience comprising parents, entrepreneurs, and industry enthusiasts.

The event provided a rare glimpse into the future of technology, as talented interns unveiled practical solutions poised to transform industries and address real-world challenges with ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit.

Over the course of the event, attendees witnessed firsthand the impressive projects developed by interns during their 10-week intensive program.

These young innovators demonstrated solutions that extend beyond theoretical concepts, showcasing applications with tangible impact.

Among the highlights was a web-based attendance system called Smart Attendance, developed by Ngwega Ellea Nduyha and her team.

This application automates classroom attendance by analyzing snapshots or videos, significantly reducing time, errors, and manipulation—an innovation set to streamline administrative processes in educational institutions.

Another standout was NEXA, a multi-tasking hospitality robot created by Suika Rodrck Kongnyuy and colleagues. According to Kongyuy, NEXA addresses challenges faced by service industries in Cameroon, such as high workloads and staff shortages.

The robot functions as a guide in hotels, a waiter in restaurants, and an assistant in hospitals—carrying trays and supporting healthcare staff, thereby enhancing efficiency and service quality.

Cyril Landry Deyou, CEO of DigiMark Consulting, emphasized the transformative vision behind the program. “Our interns are not just preparing for employment; they are being equipped to create employment,” he stated.

Deyou explained that the internship program fosters a community of student entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators, aiming to redefine the traditional role of students in the economy.

The selection process for interns involves a rigorous review supported by German and Canadian partners, ensuring that only the most promising students join the program.

Once part of DigiMark, students become integrated into a dynamic community that nurtures their entrepreneurial potential, encouraging them to develop solutions that can have lasting societal impact.

As the event concluded, it was clear that DigiMark’s initiative is cultivating a new generation of tech-savvy entrepreneurs ready to lead Cameroon into a future driven by innovation and creativity.

The “Student Tech Innovation Showcase 2025” not only celebrated youthful ingenuity but also reaffirmed the vital role of education and industry collaboration in fostering sustainable development.
