Cameroonian technology entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Appstech who doubles as human rights activist, Rebecca Enonchong has announced her support for the candidate nominated by the opposition coalition for Sunday, October 12, 2025 presidential election in Cameroon.

Rebecca Enonchong, believes Cameroon needs change, and it's time to make it happen. She has pledged to vote for the opposition coalition.

“I support the opposition coalition dynamic in Cameroon. I have no illusions about the electoral process, which we know is locked. Moreover, on September 13, the Union for Change may even choose a candidate from this system”,

“Even if he is only a transitional candidate, it makes me uncomfortable. But perhaps this is the price to pay to gather the critical popular mass that we need. Voting remains a civic duty. It is by voting that a people affirms that they count and refuses to have decisions made in their place”,

“A coalition, even an imperfect one, can give the people the strength and determination to defend their will. So I will support the candidate designated by the coalition ," Wrote Rebecca Enonchong on X, ex-Twitter Friday, September 12.

According to her, this fight is not limited to her preferences, it belongs to all Cameroonians. "It is time to put our differences aside and unite for change ," Rebecca Enonchong concluded.

It should be noted that Union for Change led by Anicet Ekane announced a meeting for this Saturday, September 13, at the esplanade of the Yaoundé Omnisports Stadium, during which the opposition's "Consensus Candidate" will be presented to the entire national and international community.

The event will feature the official presentation of the opposition's "consensus candidate," chosen to challenge incumbent President Paul Biya in the October 12 presidential election.

This meeting, expected to be a key moment in the election campaign, aims to demonstrate the unity of several opposition parties around a single standard-bearer.

The national and international community is invited to witness this strategic political turning point in a context marked by internal divisions, controversial disqualifications and institutional maneuvers.

But, according to Esbi Media , a crucial question remains unanswered, has the Divisional Officer of Yaoundé V granted authorisation for the holding of this public event?
