The Chief of Upper Bokova, HRM Chief Barrister Evanjo Abel Nyoki, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, installed Ferdinand Manga Mosoke as the quarter head of Wonya Mojowa.
The installation ceremony, held at the residence of Ferdinand Manga, brought together members of the Upper Bokova Traditional Council, dignitaries, and other guests.
Speaking during the ceremony, HRM Evanjo Abel said the appointment of Ferdinand Manga as Quarter Head was based on confidence in his ability to serve the community.
He stressed the need for strict adherence to hygiene and sanitation, the fight against insecurity through the creation of vigilante groups, and collaboration with the administration.
HRM Evanjo Abel tasked the newly installed Quarter Head to be a peacemaker and to be truthful and honest in all his dealings. He also charged him to ensure that all inhabitants have access to roads.
In his acceptance speech, Ferdinand Manga Mosoke said, “I feel truly honored to be installed as Quarter Head of Wonya Mojowa in the Upper Bokova Chiefdom. This is a true demonstration of love from my people, recognizing my years of community support.”
He pledged to be a broker of peace and unity among his people, to create a community watch program for quick reporting of suspicious activities or emergencies, and to organize monthly or quarterly neighborhood clean-ups and drain-clearing events.
Ferdinand Manga said he will initiate a quarter-wide plastic recycling and sorting bin project, an emergency welfare fund to assist families in crisis, and youth mentorship and skills-sharing workshops.
He called on the inhabitants of Wonya Mojowa to join hands and collaborate with him for the development of their quarter. “Leadership is partnership. I call on everyone to work together. Join me to transform the community for good,” Ferdinand Mosoke said.
It should be noted that Upper Bokova village is the hometown of former Prime Minister Peter Mafany Musonge.
